Early Life and Background

Kent Johnson was born in Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in a family that valued sports, with his father, Jay Johnson, and mother, Anita Johnson, supporting his early interest in hockey. Johnson’s mother has Finnish roots, having moved to Vancouver at the age of two. Despite his heritage, Kent does not speak Finnish. His brother, Kyle Johnson, played hockey for Yale University from 2018 to 2022.
