Malik Antonio Willis is an American professional football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Auburn Tigers and Liberty Flames, winning the 2020 Dudley Award with the latter. Willis was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft and was traded to the Packers in 2024.
Early Life and Background
Malik Antonio Willis was born on May 25, 1999, in College Park, Georgia, USA. He attended Westlake High School in Atlanta before transferring to Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia, for his senior year. During his senior year, Willis showcased his athletic talent by passing for 2,562 yards and rushing for 1,033 yards, accumulating a total of 37 touchdowns. As a three-star recruit, he committed to Auburn University to play college football.
Path to American Football
Willis spent two years at Auburn University from 2017 to 2018, where he played in 15 games. During this time, he completed 11 of 14 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 309 yards and two touchdowns. In 2019, he transferred to Liberty University after a quarterback competition at Auburn. Due to transfer rules, he sat out the 2019 season. In 2020, Willis became the starting quarterback for Liberty and had a standout season, throwing for six touchdowns and rushing for another against Southern Miss. His performance earned him the 2020 Dudley Award, recognizing him as the best college football player in Virginia, and he also received the 2021 Bobby Bowden Award.

Early Career (2022)
Malik Willis was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, being the 86th overall pick. He signed a four-year rookie contract on July 23, 2022. Willis made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, completing one of four passes for six yards and rushing for 16 yards. He was named the starter for a Week 8 matchup against the Houston Texans, where he completed 6 of 10 pass attempts for 55 yards and an interception, leading the Titans to a 17–10 victory.
Breakthrough (2024)
On August 26, 2024, Willis was traded to the Green Bay Packers for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact by being named the starter for Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, where he completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and his first NFL touchdown, while also rushing for 41 yards. In a notable game against the Tennessee Titans, Willis completed 13 of 19 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, while leading the team in rushing with 73 yards and another touchdown.
