Minix signed a two-way contract with the Spurs on October 19, 2024, which allowed him to split time between the NBA and the NBA G League. During his rookie season, he played in only one game for the Spurs, recording two rebounds in a loss against the Houston Rockets.

In the 2024–25 season, Riley Minix spent the first half of the season with the Austin Spurs, the G League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs.
