Robert Deon Potasi Dillingham is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. Robert Deon Potasi Dillingham was born on January 4, 2005, in Hickory, North Carolina. He is the son of Donald Dillingham and Valaaulia Tailele, the latter of whom is originally from Samoa. Dillingham’s early exposure to basketball began at a young age, and he played for Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina. By his sophomore season, he emerged as one of the top players in his class, averaging 21.2 points, 4.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game, leading his team to a 29–3 record and a non-association state title. His impressive performance earned him the Charlotte Observer Player of the Year award. For his junior year, he transferred to Donda Academy, a school founded by Kanye West in Simi Valley, California, and later moved to Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia, for his senior year.

Dillingham was regarded as a five-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals, and a four-star recruit by 247Sports. Initially, he committed to play college basketball for North Carolina State University on December 1, 2021, but later decommitted and reopened his recruitment on March 19, 2022.
