Ace Bailey’s Insane Backboard Dunk Shocks Jazz Fans

During the Utah Jazz’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night, rookie Ace Bailey amazed fans with an extraordinary dunk. Midway through his first NBA season, Bailey displayed his athleticism by throwing the ball off the backboard to himself and then slamming down a powerful two-handed dunk early in the second quarter.

Performance Overview from Utah Jazz in Their Home Game

Though Bailey’s highlight was impressive, the Jazz fell 135-119 in their home arena. The matchup remained close through halftime, with Utah leading 63-61, but Portland dominated the third quarter 40-23, creating a gap Utah couldn’t overcome.

Bailey contributed significantly, finishing with 15 points, eight rebounds, and three assists across 34 minutes. He was 7-of-15 shooting overall, though he managed only 1-of-5 from three-point range. Brice Sensabaugh led Utah’s offense with 28 points and four rebounds, followed by Isaiah Collier’s 15 points and nine assists. Kyle Filipowski added 15 points and nine boards, while Svi Mykhailiuk posted 14 points and three assists. Off the bench, Blake Hinson chipped in with 11 points.

Team Standing and Upcoming Schedule

The loss dropped the Jazz to 18-38 for the season, placing them 13th in the Western Conference. They remain three games ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans and six games clear of the Sacramento Kings but lag behind the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies in the standings. With the All-Star Weekend festivities approaching in Los Angeles, the team is currently on a break and will return to action on February 20 with an away game against the Memphis Grizzlies at 7 p.m. ET.
