Isaiah Jaden Collier was born on October 8, 2004, in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Marietta, Georgia. He attended Wheeler High School, where he was coached by his uncle, Larry Thompson. During his junior year, Collier averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals per game. He participated in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) following that season, where he averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. Unfortunately, he suffered a meniscus injury in his knee while training with the United States under-18 basketball team in May 2022, which sidelined him for the remainder of the EYBL circuit. Despite this setback, he showcased his talent at the Curry Camp, where he was named the camp’s MVP.
For his senior year, Collier improved his performance, averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 52 percent from inside the arc, 38 percent from three-point range, and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
