Green Bay Packers‘ star Micah Parsons, already regarded as one of the NFL’s top pass rushers, has identified three players he considers underrated in the league. Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, Parsons named Alex Highsmith of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jared Verse of the Los Angeles Rams, and Odafe Oweh of the Los Angeles Chargers as pass rushers deserving more recognition.
Odafe Oweh’s Evolving Impact and Upcoming Free Agency
Oweh, who was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Chargers at the trade deadline, is entering free agency and aims to secure a long-term deal. Last season, Oweh totaled 7.5 sacks after recording 10 during his final full season with Baltimore. Throughout his first 79 NFL games, he has compiled 176 tackles, 79 quarterback hits, and 30.5 sacks, showing steady productivity as a pass rusher.
Jared Verse’s Rapid Rise with the Rams
In just his second NFL season, Jared Verse has already made a strong impression with 124 tackles, 45 quarterback hits, and 12 sacks. The Rams linebacker is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year honor in 2024. His sack total increased from 4.5 to 7.5, and he improved from 18 to 27 quarterback hits in his 2025 campaign, signaling his growing influence on defense.
Alex Highsmith’s Consistent Production in Pittsburgh
Alex Highsmith has spent his entire six-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, appearing in 90 games. Over that span, he has recorded 337 tackles, 91 quarterback hits, and 45 sacks. Despite the spotlight often focusing on teammate Watt, Highsmith delivered a strong 2025 season with 50 tackles, 19 quarterback hits, and 9.5 sacks. Parsons acknowledges Highsmith as a key defensive presence for the Steelers.
Parsons’ Drive to Dominate Among NFL’s Best
As Micah Parsons prepares to return to play, he remains focused on proving his status as an elite talent at a different level. Nevertheless, his recognition of fellow pass rushers’ talents across the league highlights his respect for the competition and the depth of skill currently shaping NFL defenses.
