Cody Park Pickleball Courts: A Promising Project Unfolds

Cody Park Pickleball Courts: Cody Park in North Platte is transforming, with construction underway to bring eight new tennis courts and 10 pickleball courts to the area. This will not only enhance recreational opportunities but also bring a new life into the community’s leisure landscape. The promise of a vibrant hub for sports and leisure grows, signaling a bright future for Cody Park and its residents.

Navigating Setbacks: Weathering the Storm

Despite a recent storm causing a temporary setback, progress on the project remains steady. Lyle Minshull, the director of North Platte Parks and Recreation, acknowledged the challenges posed by the weather, stating, “The storm made us lose a little bit of time. The place that delivers the asphalt wasn’t able to deliver because the road was closed due to the storm. We’re held up right now a little bit. However, we’re continuing to remove the trees that we need to and we’re moving along nicely.”

Foundation in Progress: Building the Framework

Undeterred by the setback, work on laying the foundation for the new courts is currently underway. Minshull explained the process, saying, “Once they get the asphalt moved out, a company will come here and start moving the dirt around and so we’ll get it to the elevation that we need. Then we’ll have the company that’s going to be pouring the concrete come in about a week or two after that.”

Balancing NEBRASKAland Days

With NEBRASKAland Days approaching, the spotlight shifts to project timelines, where accurate planning becomes paramount. Lyle Minshull, the director of North Platte’s parks and recreation department, underscores the importance of synchronizing efforts amidst the city’s bustling event calendar. “We’re trying to fit this in between NEBRASKAland Days. The city is normally fairly busy with that and so, we’re working with the schedules to get it done, we’ll get it done,” he articulates, reflecting a steadfast determination to navigate the intricacies of construction amidst the backdrop of community festivities.
