Malik Shabazz Heath was born on March 31, 2000, in Canton, Mississippi. He grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, and attended Callaway High School, where he excelled in football. During his high school career, he caught 78 passes for 1,837 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. Malik is the son of Harold Heath, a former tight end for Jackson State University. His early exposure to football and support from his family laid the foundation for his athletic career.

Path to American Football

Malik Heath began his college football journey at Copiah–Lincoln Community College, where he played for two seasons. He caught 61 passes for 835 yards and seven touchdowns over 17 games. After his sophomore year, he transferred to Mississippi State University. Although he did not record any statistics in his debut, he made his first catch on November 19, 2023, during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Heath scored his first NFL touchdown on December 11, 2023, on a 6-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Love.
