Matvei Michkov was born on December 9, 2004, in Perm, Russia. He began playing ice hockey at the young age of three, receiving his first pair of skates as a child. To pursue his passion for the sport, he moved with his family to Yaroslavl in 2015 to join the youth program of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, where he began to develop his skills and gain recognition for his talent.
