Early Life and Background
Quinten Post was born on 21 March 2000 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He began his basketball journey at the age of 11, playing in the junior teams of Apollo Amsterdam. Initially, he struggled to find his footing in the sport, having a late growth spurt that saw him playing on the junior second or third teams. After a brief hiatus from basketball during his under-16 years, Post returned to the sport and quickly made an impact, growing to 6 ft 8.5 in (2.04 m) and eventually winning the national under-18 championship in 2018 as the starting center. Quinten Post’s professional career began when he was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 52nd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. This marked a significant milestone as he became the first Dutch player to be drafted into the NBA since Henk Norel in 2009. Initially, he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in a four-team trade but was quickly traded back to the Warriors. On 26 September 2024, he signed a two-way contract with the Warriors.
