Connor Mosack earned the pole position for the first-ever NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 at the Streets of St. Petersburg, set for Saturday, February 28, 2026. Mosack’s pole start was determined on Friday, February 27, despite the qualifying sessions being canceled due to rain, using NASCAR’s official qualifying metric formula.
Qualifying Format Adjusted Due to Weather Conditions
The original plan for qualifying involved splitting the 36-driver field into two groups, with each group receiving a 20-minute session to post their fastest lap times. The overall fastest driver between both groups would have claimed the pole position. However, rain forced the cancellation of all qualifying and practice sessions on Friday. Instead, NASCAR relied on a formula incorporating results from the previous event and current owner standings to set the starting lineup.
Spire Motorsports’ Mosack Awarded Pole for Second Truck Race
Using this qualifying metric, 27-year-old Charlotte native Connor Mosack, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports, was granted the top starting spot. Mosack’s truck had just captured a win at last weekend’s race in Atlanta’s EchoPark Speedway, with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. Mosack is slated to compete in 12 Truck Series races this season with Spire and will seek his first series victory on the St. Petersburg street course.

Front Row and Notable Starters in the Truck Lineup
Mosack will start alongside Giovanni Ruggiero, who enters the weekend with two consecutive top-three finishes and currently sits second in the driver standings. Making his Truck Series debut in the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports, James Hinchcliffe, a six-time NTT IndyCar Series winner from North York, Ontario, will begin third.
Ben Rhodes and Chandler Smith, the latter leading the series points, will line up fourth and fifth, respectively. Dario Franchitti, known for his three Indianapolis 500 championships and hailing from Scotland, will start sixth in the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage.
Additional drivers among the top ten include Wesley Slimp, Landen Lewis, Jake Garcia, and Adam Andretti, who is making just his second start in the series. Veteran racer Colin Braun will start from the 16th position, sharing the eighth row with Brenden Queen, nicknamed “Butterbean.”
