A.J. Brown’s Trade Wish List: Chiefs, Bills, Chargers in Talks

Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown is anticipated to be traded this offseason, with several teams reportedly on his preferred list. The Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots have surfaced as his top choices amid ongoing trade rumors.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Brown’s representatives

has certainly done its homework on interested teams,

highlighting these organizations as potential landing spots.

Why Browns’ Preferred Teams May Not Pursue a Deal

Despite Brown’s preferences, it appears unlikely that many of his favored teams will actively chase a trade for him this offseason. Breer explained the challenges surrounding each team’s current priorities and salary cap constraints.

Buffalo, having done the deal for [D.J.] Moore, is no longer involved. I don’t think the Chargers are either, with their focus on the offensive line and the edge positions (with a big chunk of money/cap now gone to [Khalil] Mack),

Breer stated. He also noted,

And ditto on the Chiefs, who are zeroed in on the running back spot, and have a desire to replenish the roster with the picks they got in the [Trent] McDuffie trade.

Trade Negotiations at an Impasse

Given the lukewarm interest from Brown’s favored teams, the trade situation between Brown and the Eagles

feels like it’s at a standstill,

Breer added, suggesting that progress has stalled as negotiations continue without clear movement.

Philadelphia is reportedly looking for compensation similar to the 2022 Davante Adams trade, where the Green Bay Packers acquired the Las Vegas Raiders’ first- and second-round draft picks. However, Breer pointed out,

I’m not sure anyone will go that far to get him,

as other teams appear to favor offers closer to the 2024 Stefon Diggs trade, which involved a Day 3 pick swap and a second-round draft choice.

The Future Outlook for A.J. Brown’s Trade Scenario

Despite a quiet offseason and a down year recently, A.J. Brown remains one of the NFL’s elite receivers and a three-time Pro Bowler. His eagerness to rebound and contribute to a Super Bowl-contending team could motivate a franchise to enhance its trade proposal to the Eagles. For now, uncertainty lingers as teams weigh their options and the Eagles hold out for significant value.
