Richard Lee Jemison III was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended multiple high schools, starting at Ramsay High School for his freshman year. He then transferred to Homewood High School for his sophomore year, where he was part of the team that won the 2016 Alabama 6A state championship. Early Career (2023)
After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jemison joined the Phoenix Suns for the 2023 NBA Summer League. He signed with the New Orleans Pelicans on September 30, 2023, but was waived shortly after. On October 30, 2023, he joined the Birmingham Squadron, the Pelicans’ affiliate in the NBA G League.

Jemison signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards on January 20, 2024, where he appeared in two games. He then signed a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he registered his first NBA points with a five-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 2.
