Caleb Martin (born September 28, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the North Carolina State University Wolfpack and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack. Martin was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year for the 2017–18 season by the league’s coaches. He is also known as the twin brother of Cody Martin, who is also a professional basketball player.
Early Life and Background
Caleb Martin was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He grew up in a family that encouraged athletic pursuits, and he began playing basketball at a young age. Martin attended Davie County High School in Mocksville, North Carolina, where he played basketball for three seasons. He later transferred to Oak Hill Academy, a prestigious prep school in Virginia known for its basketball program, where he played alongside his twin brother, Cody.
After high school, Martin committed to play college basketball at North Carolina State University, where he played for two seasons before transferring to the University of Nevada. His time at NC State and Nevada helped him develop his skills and gain recognition in the collegiate basketball landscape.

During his high school career, Caleb Martin showcased his talent as a small forward, standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall. Early Career (2019–2021)
Caleb Martin went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft but signed with the Charlotte Hornets on July 31, 2019. He made his NBA debut on October 25, 2019, coming off the bench in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. During his first season, he played in various roles, including a stint with the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets’ G League affiliate. Martin’s first notable performance came on March 9, 2020, when he scored a season-high 23 points in a double-overtime game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Over the next two seasons with the Hornets, Martin continued to develop his game, achieving a season-high of 17 points in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers in April 2021. However, he was waived by the Hornets in August 2021.
Breakthrough (2021–2024)
After leaving the Hornets, Martin signed with the Miami Heat on a two-way contract on September 14, 2021. He made his Heat debut on October 21, 2021, and quickly became an integral part of the team. During the 2022 playoffs, Martin played a key role in helping the Heat upset the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
